Water and Placement
- Water level: Submerge only the roots and bottom stalks; never submerge the leafy top portion to prevent rotting.
- Water quality: Use bottled, distilled, or dechlorinated tap water. High levels of fluoride or chlorine in regular tap water can turn leaves yellow.
- Changes: Refresh the water every 1 to 2 weeks if kept in a vase, rinsing pebbles monthly. For aquarium setups, let the tank filter maintain water quality.
Light and Temperature
- Lighting: Place in bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sun will burn and scorch the green leaves.
- Temperature: Keep in a warm room between 18°C and 30°C (65°F–90°F). Protect the plant from cold drafts and air conditioning vents.
